If you sign up to receive the Tides Advocacy newsletter or any of our other mailings, we may contact you with information that we think will be of interest to you. Tides Advocacy will always provide an unsubscribe option with any official e-mails from our organization. If at any time you wish to stop receiving these communications, please follow the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email, or send Tides Advocacy an email at [email protected] and ask to be removed from Tides Advocacy’s email list.
How Tides Advocacy Protects User Information
Tides Advocacy maintains data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to help protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information. Tides Advocacy is committed to keeping your personal information safe and secure. Tides Advocacy mandates login security controls on equipment and systems, multi-factor user authentication, mandatory password expiry, digital storage encryption, routine scheduled patching and updates, and ongoing cybersecurity user training and awareness for Tides Advocacy staff.
If you provide credit card information to make a donation, your credit card information is not held by Tides Advocacy. It is collected by our third party payment processors specializing in the secure processing of credit or debit card transactions. Your credit card information is not stored by Tides Advocacy.
We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. The periods of retention depend on the type of data collected, the purpose for which the data is given, and requirements of applicable law.

For that reason, Tides Advocacy never collects information at the Website from those Tides Advocacy knows are under 16, and no part of the Website is structured specifically to attract anyone under 16. If Tides Advocacy becomes aware of having information about anyone under 16, Tides will promptly delete the information.
