Wilfredo Florentino (he/him/his) joined Tides Advocacy in May 2023 as the Grants and Contracts Manager. In this role, he brings over 15 years experience in the grants space. Will graduated from the University at Albany and attained the rank of Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Prior to joining Tides Advocacy, Will managed grant programs at the NAACP and oversaw a $3B portfolio in state initiatives at Empire State Development.

Will advises and serves on the boards of NYC’s only BIPOC/LGBTQ+ theater company, Brooklyn’s only LGBTQ+ democratic club, the only community development corporation serving NYC's LGBTQ+ older adult population and for the past 12 years as Transportation Committee Chair on his local Community Board. Will is born and raised in Brooklyn to Afro-Latinx immigrant parents, and still resides there with his husband and their 2 daughters.
